Privacy Policy — Artificially Stupid

DYVEXAR Studio · last updated 3 October 2026

Artificially Stupid ("the game") is made by DYVEXAR Studio ("we", the controller of the data described here). This page explains what the game stores, what it sends, why, and the choices you have. It matches what the game actually does. Contact: dyvexarstudio@gmail.com.

What the game stores on your PC

Your progress, unlocks, stats, achievements, challenges, loadout, look, key and controller bindings, muted players and settings are saved on your own computer. If you use Steam Cloud, Steam copies that save file to your Steam account so it follows you to other PCs. We never see it.

Online play, voice and text chat

Multiplayer runs through Steam (Valve Corporation), using Steam's relay network. To play together, the game uses your Steam account ID and Steam name; the other players in your match see your Steam name.

Legal basis: providing the multiplayer you ask for (performance of a contract / our legitimate interest in running the game). Steam's own processing is covered by Valve's privacy policy.

Reporting players

If you report a player with the "!" button, the game opens an email in your own mail app, pre-filled with that player's Steam name and ID, the time, lobby code, map and game version. Nothing is sent unless you send that email. We use reports only to review the behaviour and keep them for up to 12 months.

Crash reports (optional — you choose)

The first time you open the game it asks whether it may send crash reports. If you say yes, when the game hits an error it sends a report so we can fix it. A report contains: the error message and where in the game's code it happened, the game version, your operating system, CPU, GPU and amount of memory, the map and mode you were playing, and — after a crash — the last lines of the game's log file.

Before a report is written, the game removes your name and any Steam ID from it. Reports are processed by Sentry (Functional Software, Inc., sentry.io) on our behalf and are used only to find and fix bugs. Sentry may process data outside your country (for example in the United States) under its standard data-protection terms. Reports are kept for up to 90 days. Legal basis: your consent — you can turn crash reports on or off at any time in PREFERENCES → PRIVACY. If you say no, nothing is sent.

What we don't do

We don't sell or share your data for advertising, show ads, track you across other apps or websites, run analytics, or collect anything not listed above. The game has no account of its own besides your Steam account.

Children

The game is not directed at children under 13 (Steam accounts are for ages 13 and up), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us data (for example a crash report or an email), contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights and contact

Wherever you live, you can ask us to access, correct, delete or export data connected to you, object to or restrict its use, or withdraw consent (crash reports) at any time. This includes rights under the EU and UK GDPR, Brazil's LGPD, Japan's APPI, Korea's PIPA, China's PIPL and similar laws. Contact dyvexarstudio@gmail.com; we will reply within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top and note the change in the game's patch notes.
